The “Passeggiate Barocche” 2021 event was held on Saturday 21 August, at Villa Castro in Scicli, organized by the “Confeserfidi Foundation” which proposes a representative itinerary of the history, society and culture of southeastern Sicily and which for years leads to the discovery of the unique beauties of the Hyblaean territories.
The appointment made it possible to get to know the Villa Castro in the Santa Rosalia district, originally Mormino, built in two stages: the central nucleus referable to the second half of the nineteenth century and a building added in the early thirties of the twentieth century on a project by engineer Ignazio Emmolo. The itinerary allowed the attendees to open a window on the theme of the villas in the Iblei between Neoclassicism and Liberty. To illustrate and narrate these two themes were prof. Giuseppe Barone and prof. Paolo Nifosì.
Ospitalità Iblea – rural tourism services, a network project consisting of tour operators and farms in the municipalities of Ragusa, Modica, Scicli and Ispica, participated in the event by setting up its own stand for the promotion of rural tourism in the province of Ragusa. The event was also an opportunity for Dr. Piero Virderi (coordinator of the Iblea Hospitality project) and Dr. Paolo Ferlisi (director of Mediterranea Consulting) to present the initiatives and activities proposed by Ospitalità Iblea to the numerous participants. The event also offered the opportunity to let the many participants taste the typical products of the area.
A dutiful thanks to the Confeserfidi Foundation and to the CEO Dr. Bartolomeo Mililli, to professors Paolo Nifosì and Giuseppe Barone.
